Now you must configure your router to forward the appropriate ports to your desktop's address. This procedure will vary from router to router. By default you will need to forward port 5900 and 5800 (only used for HTTP VNC). These ports can be changed in the Connections tab of the configuration utility.

Now you will need to download and setup the VNC client for Palm

1) Download the client from here: http://palmvnc2.free.fr/stable/PalmVNC.prc
2) Install the application on your Treo.
3) Launch the application and select "Connect".
4) Select "New".
5) Give it a connection name, this can be anything you want.
6) In the server name or IP address, enter the WAN address of the desktop or a valid DNS name. If you do not know the external address of your network, you can view it at http://esotericnet.com/scripts/ipaddress.html
7) Set the display number to 0 if it is not already.
8) Enter the password you chose in Step 13 in the previous section for the password field.
9) Select "Advanced".
10) You can alter the scaling to your tastes, I find that 1:2 is adequate.
11) NT username and password is not required.
12) Base port is 5900 by default. If you specified another port in the configuration utility, enter that here.
13) Select "OK".
14) Select "OK".
15) Select "Connect".

That's it! You can now share your Windows desktop with your Treo.
