Stereo bluetooth
From TreoCentral
Stereo Bluetooth headsets for the Treo 650 and soon Treo 700p.
You will need a applicaton from Softick, called Softick Audio Gateway as the Treo does not natively give you the ADAP2 protocol to send out the stereo signal.
Most Stereo Bluetooth headsets also can handle incoming and outgoing phone calls.
However, there are some issues depending on which model and brand you decide to choose.
Softick is working hard to make the more compatible and address the existing problems.
I personally do not work for Softick and am just a Treo fan.
I have two Stereo Bluetooth headsets.
The Plantronics Plusar 590A (and they now have a lite version model 590e, that does not contain all the accessories that the 590A's come with) which comes with the transmitter adapter. These are over the head headphone and most people think they are too geeky and heavy to wear. However, they have probably the best sound quality and a great bass sound.
And I have Bluetake BT450-RX, which are over the ear (with a single wire that connects the left and right unit together that you place behind your neck).
These are very lite to wear.
They also come in a lite version with little accessories or the full package complete with a transmitter adapter so you can connect things like a walkman that has a 3.5 mm stereo jack.
The sound quality on these is not as good as the Plantronics and the do not seem to go as loud.
I personally prefer the Plantronics.
I tend to only use these devices to listen to audio books. So I can adjust Softick Audio Gateway not to preform at the best quality.
I have to say that not getting tangle up in the headset wires is a blessing.
There are many other Stereo Bluetooth Headset available from many vendor. Please read in Treo Central discussion group under catagory 'Bluetooth', look for the Smack down thread.
I hope this starts Stereo Bluetooth discussion on Treo Central new Wiki system.
