A smartphone is a mobile computing device capable of acting as a cellphone, a PDA, an email client, and more. The Treo is a smartphone. Smartphones typically run an operating system which is customizable by third party developers. Palm Source's Palm OS, Microsoft's Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition, and Symbian are three examples.
