Roaming is when you are using the Treo (either voice or data) on a carrier network other than one owned by your wireless service provider. Each wireless service provider maintains agreements with others to allow devices registered on their network to work effectively on other compatible cellular networks. Typically, voice calls or data usage on a roaming network has an associated surcharge.
