HotSync
From TreoCentral
(Redirected from Hotsync)
HotSync refers to the Palm software that synchronizes PalmOS devices with the desktop. It refers to several pieces at once:
- The Treo HotSync application on the Treo (or other PalmOS device).
- The Desktop HotSync application on the desktop, either a Windows or a Mac machine.
The HotSync application contain several built-in conduits for synchronizing various types of data either to the Palm Desktop program or to other programs such as Microsoft Outlook or iCal. Many 3rd-party applications come with their own conduits that act as "plug-ins" for HotSync.
Windows Mobile Treos (such as the Treo 700w/wx) use Activesync for synchronizing PIM data.
