From TreoCentral
There are different ways to connect your Treo phone to a GPS receiver. You can use wireless bluetooth receiver, that connects via bluetooth to any bluetooth equiped PlamOS and Windows Mobile phone or a receiver that has the Treo connector designed for the Treo 600, 650, or 700p.
Bluetooth GPS Receiver
For bluetooth receivers you want to look for the ones that has the good chipset in it, "SiRF Star III" is the current new chipset. It's quite sensivtive, it can get signal even if you place it inside the glove box. It comes with the major 3rd party GPS receiver, for example, the Globalsat BT-388 and new receivers have it. Also the ones came with TomTom navigator 5 and 6 packages have it. Interestingly, the GPS package Palm used to sell on its website that buddle TomTom Nav 5 software and a separated Bluetooth receiver didn't have the SiRF Star III chipset in it.
Car Mount GPS Receiver
You can get car mount GPS receiver that connectes to the bottom of the Treo. Seidio makes one with the speaker and one without the speaker for Treo. They will give GPS signal and charge the phone at the same time. Be careful Treo multi-connector is not known for its reliability. Make sure you have phone insurance.
