Software can refer to several different things and it's important to be aware of some distinctions.
The main question with regard to any piece of software is which Platform it is meant for. Software designed for the Desktop will not be installable on a Treo, even though it may run an Operating system called Windows Mobile. Furthermore, software designed for the PalmOS will not run on Windows Mobile and vise versa.
