  • SSL 3.0
  • HTTP 1.1
  • JavaScript 1.5
  • CSS 1.0 & 2.0 (partial)
  • Images: GIF, animated GIF, JPEG, PNG and BMP
  • Cookies

  • Save images and webpages for viewing offline

History

Blazer 1.0

Blazer existed since May 2001. Blazer versions 1.0 ran on PalmOS 3.1 and up and required 8 mb of RAM. These versions supported HTML, WAP and i-mode and required a connection to Handspring's proxy server.

Blazer 2.0

Blazer 2.0 was released in 2002 and added support for 16-bit color and SSL.

Blazer 3.0

Blazer 3.0 was released with the Treo 600. This was a significant update because Palm, Inc. completely recoded the core of the browser that handles communications and content to the NetFront Core that is used in the Clie PDAs by Sony.

Blazer 3.0 offered proxy-less communication (or the option to use a standard web proxy), full HTML support with basic CSS and scripting.

Blazer 4.0

The Blazer 4.0 release is the latest release. When Blazer 4.0/4.1 was released on the Tungsten T5, Tungsten E2 and the Treo 650 it supported many of the features above. This release of the browser was unstable when using some of the advanced features if not in Wide Page Mode. Blazer 4.0/4.1 also added a new UI and a VPN Connect option.

Blazer 4.3 was released to the Treo 650, LifeDrive and TX. This added support for an optimized mode that could load pages without CSS or images.

Blazer 4.5 was released in May 2006 along with the Palm Treo 700p. Blazer 4.5 included quicker page rendering as well as streaming support through the Kinoma Media Player helper application.
