A: Testing has shown that the lithium ion battery on the Treo 600 has lasted for 6 hours of talk time on GSM models and 5 hours on CDMA models.
Treo 680
Q: What is the specification for the battery on the Treo 680?
A: The Palm Treo specification for the 680 lists talk time up to four hours and standby time for the phone as up to 300 hours (12.5 days). No specification is given for the phone completely off with the entire unit off.
Presumably, not having the Treo 680 on at all should have a battery power usage even lower.
Q: My unit does not come close to the talk and standby times listed. What can I do?
A: Palm has a set of recommendations for decreasing battery usage. These suggestions include turning off Bluetooth, IR and turning down the brightness.
Q: Even after I follow the recommendations, my Treo 680 does not come close to the standby specification. Is there a problem with my unit?
A: The TreoCentral forum on the 680 has several extensive discussions on battery life.
At least three possible sources have been suggested: improper battery calibration, high drain after camera use and abnormally high current drain during phone standby mode .
On 1/18/07 Palm released a firmware update for the camera drain problem. Is available on the Palm website at camera high drain update .
