Checking AOL email on a Treo

The built-in email application of the Treo 600 does not allow easy access of AOL e-mail. But there are alternatives to make this work.

Some of the carriers offer services that integrate AOL e-mail into proxy services. For example, T-Mobile allows their MyEmail service to hook into an AOL e-mail account and thus forward this type of mail to the Treo.

There are web based services such as www.gopherking.com which allow you to get AOL, Hotmail and many varieties of e-mail through the Treo's web browser.

Finally, there are some add-on softwares available that get Hotsynced into the Treo. AOL itself offers "AOL 3.2.1 for Treo 600" (or higher version in the future) and there's also "OneMail for Treo". You can get both of these at www.palmgear.com or www.handango.com.
